St Catherine's Academy
The old Withins School was demolished in 2013 and has been replaced by a fine new building called St Catherine's Academy (www.boltonstcatherinesacademy.org.uk/), which also incorporates other local schools. There were two commemorative plaques mounted in the main hall of Withins School, which had originally been mounted in one of the halls in the Great Moor Street building. The plaques contained the names of ex BCGS students who lost their lives during the two world wars

St Catherine's have secured funding to refurbish and remount the first war plaque. Regrettably
the second war plaque cannot be found. It seems likely it was lost or damaged
during building work.
St Catherine's intend to research the people named and their families and would be

gratefully received, as a replacement may be possible in future .
