We have, over the last few years, collected a fair amount of historical material connected with the school, including photographs, Supera magazines, cups and shields, and various other items. Much of this work was managed by John Blundell who, until his death in 2008, was an active member of the committee. John was responsible for cataloguing much of the information and depositing it with Bolton Library Local Studies Unit.
If you wish to access the information you can do so easily at Bolton Central Library. Its reference is FZ/62. The Accession Number for reading matter and photographs is 2022. For objects, e.g. cups, badges etc it is BOLMG: 2008.20. Also if you have items which you feel may be of interest and which you are willing to add to the collection, please advise the Association's Archivist Pauline Doyle on 01204.304798 or email mbpdoyle at talktalk.net (replace at with the @ sign)
We have recently learned that some of the current tenants of the apartments in the school wish to collect some items for display in the halls (which are largely as they were when the building was a school - i.e. empty spaces). The old trophy cabinet is still there and they want to place some items such as cups, trophies etc if they can be found. If you have any items which you are prepared to loan or donate please advise by email and we will do the rest. The tenants are very responsible and security is good (cameras etc). Prefects shields, caps, copies of Supera etc would also be very welcome.
